As part of a new initiative to more closely intertwine the work of seminary, church, and community, The Public Church Network at LSTC is hosting a series of "Public Church Pop-Ups" to foster greater collaboration between rostered, lay, and seminary leaders for the sake of Gospel. Our third event in January, at St. Philip Lutheran Church in Glenview, will have two special guests: Pastor Kyle Severson - pastor at St. Philip - and St. Philip's lay leaders as they talk about what it means to "actively listen" to a community when doing ministry. Carol LaHurd, LSTC faculty, will also share some of her significant insight about Christian-Muslim engagement, and how people of faith the world over can relate to each other All are welcome - lay and rostered, friend and colleague - to come and have some real community, get a bite to eat, and enjoy some meaningful networking and down-time. Contact Elise Anderson at ila.anderson@lstc.edu or (803) 730-2466 to RSVP for this event, and invite your friends!
